This morning, I needed to schedule a meeting with a friend. What happened kind of surprised me.
I needed to get together with this guy, so it was not just a social thing, but something that was actually necessary.
I sent him a text message and asked what day, time, and place would be convenient for him to meet. We had not seen each other for a while, so on his reply, he said that he hoped that I was doing well, etc. I don’t think he knows about my recent weight loss, reversal of diabetes, etc. He is not active online, and I have not told him, so I just don’t think he knows.
Additionally, on his reply, he told me that he wanted to meet at Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop. I replied that I was fasting and Krispy Kreme would not be my first choice. Kind of trying to put it gently.
His response floored me… “Just don’t eat then.” ย Uh, OK. Talk about empathy!
This fellow has diabetes. He is overweight (we are probably about the same weight now). He has health problems. If he wants to spend time at Krispy Kreme that is his choice. But, if he told me that he was fasting and Krispy Kreme would not be a good place for him, I would certainly be more accommodating toward his needs or desires. It surprised me at his crass response.
Fact is, I choose not to go to places like doughnut shops. Those kinds of places are just trapped. I know that I have the ability to control myself, and I will not eat a doughnut or anything else that Krispy Kreme has to offer, but why would a friend want to put another friend in that position? I know I would not.
Oh well, I will go take care of the things that my friend and I need to take care of and leave. I will be strong. Truth is, I rarely have food-related temptations anymore anyway!
Keep on with the Keto, friends, if you are doing it! Here’s to the best of health for all of us.

Your doctor will be shocked Catherine Espanola Ricofuerto.
Bob Martin
Don’t be surprised if your doctor is upset. What you are doing is against everything doctors know (most doctors) and he will probably not understand what you are doing or why it is working. Just be prepared for that… sorry to say.
