Well, it is Friday where I live and I thought I’d post a little sort of review today.
I’ll take a look back at the past week and also the past month.
You know, from mid-April through the early to mid part of June, I had really hit a plateau. I just was not losing weight much at all. It was very frustrating, but I was being true to the plan and being honest in following it. No eating on fasting days, eating the right foods on fasting days, etc.
Starting around mid-June, though, I started seeing the weight dropping again, and I have been taking advantage of breaking the plateau by stepping up my fasting schedule in order to take care of losing the weight while it is being effective.
Yesterday, I looked back at my Google Fit data to see how much I had lost in the past 30 days. I was a bit surprised, but I found that in 30 days I had lost 19 pounds. I was very happy when I saw that!
Another big piece of news is that two days ago, I broke through 250 pounds, and am now at 247. I had been waiting to go below 250, I consider it a major milestone, and am so glad to be on the bottom side of 250 now. Of course, my plan is to never see it again!
Fasting update for the week
Over the past few weeks or more, my fasting schedule has been to fast for 6 days per week. I eat on Saturdays, and my last meal is at 6 PM on Saturday evening.
This week, though, I had to break the fast a day early, because during the day I experienced some dizziness. Nothing major, but I didn’t like that happening, so I decided to just eat a day early. I feel no shame for it… I have always followed a policy of listening to what my body told me, and in this case, my body was telling me that something was not right, so I decided there was no reason to continue fasting, my health was more important.
I have not been able to figure out why I had dizziness, but I have a suspicion. All of my numbers were in good shape. My blood pressure was normal. Blood sugar normal. Everything looked fine. The only thing I could figure out was that I think I may have been dehydrated. Hydration while fasting is importing and I feel fairly certain that I was dehydrated. I went out and walked for a while, the sun was bright and very hot, even though it was early in the morning. It is at that time that I started feeling dizzy.
No big deal, though. I just follow what my body is telling me, and after I sat down in the air conditioning and had a drink I started feeling fine. But, later in the day the dizziness returned, so I decided it would be best to eat, so I had a nice salad and an egg. Since then I have felt no dizziness. I will eat normally tomorrow and then get back to fasting again!
I am very happy, everything is looking great! And, the most important thing is that I am feeling great too!

Fasting is awesome. It’s been a while since I did it. I hover between 220 and 240 and I would love to get back down to my optimum weight – back when I retired from the military.
Be careful, though. You’re not young and older people tend to look older than they are when they lose too much weight too fast. You don’t want to start considering cosmetic surgery to get rid of all the excess skin. It takes a long time to disappear on its own.
Bob
Hi RT. Nice to hear from you, hope you are doing well! So, you are a fellow (former at least) faster? That is great, and I agree that it is awesome.
Actually, lose skin is not a problem when you lose it fasting, because Autophagy (only happens when fasting) causes your body to absorb the loose skin. I have seen it working for me.
RT Cunningham
Yes, former faster. I had to stop when I started having digestive problems. I don’t have those problems now… I just haven’t built up the nerve to start again.
I didn’t know about autophagy. I’ll have to check it out.
Bob
Autophagy was only discovered a few years ago by scientists, that’s probably why you had not heard of it.

Awesome! Just read several of your articles on IF & your journey – very interesting & sounds like it’s working well for you!
